MW4 DMZ Progression and Level Unlocks
MW4 DMZ progression is its own 70-level track, separate from the level 1–55 Multiplayer ranks. You earn DMZ XP from Story Missions, Dynamic Operations, Side Ops and other activities in Hajin, and each level unlocks Stations, Station Upgrades, 3D Printer recipes, Operator skins, consumable kits or Fire Support. Below is every unlock from Activision’s official DMZ Progression Table.
How MW4 DMZ XP and levels work
- Separate DMZ level: DMZ has 70 levels of its own. XP from Multiplayer or Warzone does not count toward your DMZ level.
- Counts toward your player rank: XP you earn in DMZ also adds to the shared level 1–55 player progression (Private I to Commander).
- Shared weapon progress: weapon levels, attachments and camos are one grind across all modes. Special camo challenges adjust to the mode you play; in DMZ they usually ask for more kills because AI enemies count.
- Early start: DMZ early access opens on 20 October for digital pre-orders, three days before the full launch on 23 October, so weapon levels earned there carry into Multiplayer. See the MW4 DMZ release time.
MW4 DMZ level unlocks, 2 to 70
Every level from 2 to 70 awards something. Station unlocks open new rooms in your Forward Operating Base; recipes are crafted at the 3D Printer; kits are one-off consumables you take into Hajin.

DMZ levels that give you keys
Some progression kits include a key, which is a free way to open a locked room early on. These are the kits whose official contents name a key; find the rooms in the MW4 DMZ keys database and on the Hajin map.

- Level 19, Recon Equipment Kit: Seeker Drone, Recon Drone, Heartbeat Sensors, Snapshot Grenades and a Police Station Key.

Stations you unlock along the way
The FOB grows as you level: the 3D Printer at level 2, the Vendor at 5, the Gunsmith at 10 and the Dog Tag Case at 20, with Station Upgrades such as more Operator slots, extra Item Stash slots, Gunsmith discounts and higher Bounty payouts spread across the later levels. The Gunsmith sells any weapon you own a Weapon Manual for, and any weapon or attachment you have unlocked in Multiplayer or DMZ can be bought there with DMZ Cash.
DMZ Mastery camos
After the Military, Special and Completionist camo challenges, each mode has its own three Mastery camos. The DMZ Mastery camos are Chiral, Ripple Tide, Helio. Once a non-Mastery special camo is earned in any mode, it is available in every mode.

Plan your first DMZ levels
Early levels come fastest from missions, so pick up Story Missions and Side Ops from the MW4 DMZ missions tracker, plan a route through Hajin’s locations, and watch the DMZ bosses page before you go after a Commander. Back to the MW4 DMZ map.
