The MW4 DMZ release time for early access is Tuesday 20 October 2026 at 10:00 AM PT (17:00 UTC), at the same moment worldwide, as reported from Call of Duty’s update channel; Activision’s own pages confirm the date only. The full game, including physical copies, launches on Friday 23 October 2026.

Who gets DMZ early access?
Anyone who pre-ordered or pre-purchased a digital copy, either the Standard Digital edition or the Vault Edition, on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, PlayStation 5, Battle.net, Steam or Nintendo Switch 2. Physical disc pre-orders are not included. The Vault Edition does not get DMZ any earlier than Standard Digital. DMZ was not part of the summer beta, so for most players 20 October is the first time in Hajin.
Full launch times on 23 October
On 23 October the game unlocks at midnight in each region on PlayStation, Xbox, PC and Switch 2, so players in New Zealand and Australia get in first and players in the Americas last. As reported from PlayStation Store listings, US and Canada unlock at 04:00 UTC on 23 October (midnight Eastern). Steam lists 22 October in the regions checked, without an official hour. If your store shows a different time, trust the store.
What to do before DMZ opens
- Install the required update so you are not stuck downloading at 17:00 UTC.
- Learn the map: the MW4 DMZ map shows the 13 POIs and which ones are Low threat.
- Read how keys, DMZ Orders and Lieutenants work.
- On PC, check the PC requirements: TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are mandatory.
